Christmas 2007

Its been a busy Christmas holiday!
Alex and Nicole came home on Friday night. He doesn't have to work again until Wednesday morning (neither do Ryan or I).
Alex brought home the playstation 2. Needless to say kids played guitar hero until the wee hours of the morning. They really enjoy that game and it is fun to just watch them play.
Saturday we went to Milo and Joann's for dinner. Brandon, Julie & Bleau and Lisa, and their family weren't able to make it. Brandon had to work and one of Lisa and Bleau's kids came down with the flu. We watched planet earth for awhile when we first got there, then had a big dinner, and opened presents. Milo brought out an album that Leroy (Duane's uncle) had made when he was little, and we all looked at that. Had a big lunch, and just visited.
Sunday after church Ryan, Alex, and Nicole joined us for dinner. We invited Milo, Joann,
Harvey and Doug to come for lunch. I think Grandpa and Grandma got quite a kick out of watching the boys playing guitar hero. The kids really get into it, it's fun to watch.
Sunday night we had the Christmas program in Hull. Casey was a narrator. The kids did a really good job. It was a nice program. Hull didn't have a lunch after it this year, so we came right home. Casey and I played Guitar Hero for awhile then Ryan and I played and right now Casey and Ryan are playing a different playstation game.
Tomorrow Alex and Nicole will be at Nicole's parents house for Christmas. So I think Duane and I will try to get some income tax work done. We want to try to get that all done before his surgery on January 8th. Although I'm really not looking forward to it, it will be nice getting it our of the way.
We started working on this website in October. I knew we'd never be able to devote a lot of time to it. I'm sure we won't get around to writing every night, just not enough time or energy for it. But I know I enjoy reading Nancy and Bruce's (Duane's brother and sister in law) so we thought we'd do one too.
We finally got most of our home remodeling projects done, so we should have more time now.
Although we still want to put linoleum in the entryway, and a few other projects.
We have been slowly working on getting the house redone on the inside. We remodeled our bathroom, totally. We made it bigger, put a separate tub and shower in, and a new sink. The boys didn't think we needed a whirlpool. I think they have used it even more than I have. There is nothing more relaxing than to sit in the whirlpool with a good book and just relax.
This past summer we finally built a deck (we had resided the house, put new windows in, and put in a patio door). For the longest time we just had a patio door there and no steps. Tyler told us many times, Grandpa and grandma you need to build a deck. After we built it he just loved to go stand out there too. He has now convinced his other grandma that they need to build one. He says Grandma I want to be in charge of the deck. She said he picked out a huge one he wanted them to build. He says they need to put their grill on there and his toys, and a table and chair set for him. He says "But I want to be in charge of the deck grandma".
We also sanded our hardwood floor down and restained and varnished it then we put laminate in the dinning room and kitchen. That was long overdue. It is so nice to scrub the floor and have it look clean. The other floor was so scarred up it never looked clean.
I'll post some pictures later of us working on these projects. It was really a family affair. I'm really fortunate to have boys that have been taught carpenter skills. By both their father and their uncle Harlow. When we start a project and the family is home for the weekend we get a lot of help.
Well, I sure had enough to say once I got started right?
WE WANT TO WISH YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS,AND A NEW YEAR FILLED WITH GOOD HEALTH AND MANY BLESSINGS!
