It's been awhile

Last week was a busy week. On Monday we went to Bismarck and helped Alex and Nicole move. Brandon, Casey, Ryan, Duane and I, Nicole's mom, and of course Alex and Nicole were there to help, so we got everything moved and even a few things unpacked in the kitchen.

Alex and Nicole ordered pizza for dinner, and we went to Brandon's house to eat it.
I have a few of the pictures of their house here, of course this was taken in the process of moving so there are boxes all over, but you can see the layout of their house at least.

On Wednesday we all made a trip to Bismarck again. Nicole had arranged for us all to meet at Steak and Buffet for supper. Alex never knew anything about it because it was a surprise for his Birthday. When we got there we called and asked Alex if they would want to meet us for supper, which wasn't that much of a surprise because we do that sometimes if we are in town and the kids aren't working. Anyway we met there and then Nicole gave him tickets to the Shinedown concert, that was quite a surprise for him. He looked at the tickets and said cool, then he realized it was that night, and we told him we were all going. Brandon already had other plans for supper so he couldn't make it, but we did see him at the concert. Duane and Casey and I all had seats and Ryan, Sarah, Alex, Nicole and Brandon and his friends all had floor passes (Julie was working in the concessions). I don't know how Brandon saw us from the floor, but we were hardly seated when he waved and hollared up to us. It was a really good concert and we enjoyed it.

On Friday we again headed for Bismarck. Casey won the Amvets essay contest so we went up for supper and the program. He won second place in the Seniors division and got a nice sized check. Of course since he won money we had to stop at Walmart on our way out.

On Saturday we again headed for Bismarck fairly early in the morning. Alex's entryway was leaking so we went up to help him fix it. While we were on our way up there he tore the whole roof off and got most of the stuff we needed. When we got there Nicole was out getting breakfast for all of us. We ate, Duane and Alex started, while Nicole and I went shopping for a few other things they needed for the house. We were all done by 2:30, and they actually would have been done sooner but they were waiting on us to get back with the roof sealer. We really hurried but we kept getting these calls that would send us running back to the other end of the store for something else (just little things like caulking gun etc).

We got home on Saturday afternoon and before evening we had 4 calves. Milo had checked them at noon and there weren't any. That was just a spurt I guess maybe because of the weather? We have had 5 since then.

We have a bunch more pictures we will post later.

Casey left for his Senoir trip this morning at 6:00 AM. They are going on a skiing trip. They rented a big lodge at Terry Peak that sleeps 20 people. He was really excited to learn how to ski.

Well I guess I'd better get going I need to get some applications in and pick up a few things in Linton.

Take care,
Betty and Duane
